Zu Beginn der Arbeit gibt es einen berblick ber die Geschichte der Deutschen in den USA und New York. Anschlie end wird das Magazin THE NEW YORKER vorgestellt, um dem Leser eine besseres Verst ndnis des untersuchten Korpus zu verschaffen, und es ihm zu erlauben, die betroffenen Texte inhaltlich und stilistisch einordnen zu k nnen. Es schlie t sich der Hauptteil der Arbeit an, der aus einer ausf hrlichen und beschreibenden Analyse ausgew hlter W rter besteht. Dabei werden die W rter zun chst nach Bereichen geordnet. Innerhalb der Bereiche werden die W rter nach der H ufigkeit ihres Vorkommens im Korpus geordnet untersucht.
